Am Valentinstag haben wir Annes Höhenangst herausgefordert (und erfolgreich kurriert?) und den Auckland Harbour Bridge Climb gemacht. Und Julia hat sich ganz spontan entschlossen doch noch den Bungy von der Brücke zu machen - man hat ja sonst nichts zu tun.
Die Harbour Bridge verbindet den Teil Aucklands, der North Shore genannt wird und indem Devonport liegt, mit Auckland CBS und den restlichen, südlicher gelegenen Teilen Aucklands.
Der Climb war echt schön und man hat einiges gelernt. Zum Beispiel, dass die Brücke ursprünglich nur vierspurig war (jetzt ist sie achtspurig) und dass nur drei Menschen bei dem Bau der Brücke umgekommen sind.
Und natürlich war auch der Ausblick fantastisch. Auf der einen Seite Devonport, wo wir leben (bzw. unser Lebensmittelpunkt ist) und auf der anderen Seite Zentral Auckland, mit den Wolkenkratzern und dem Skytower, der der höchste Turm in der südlichen Hemisphäre ist.

We decided to climb the Auckland Harbour Bridge and to help Ann fighting her fear of hights at Valentin's Day. And Julia sspontaneously decided to do the bungy jump.
The Harbour Bridge connects the northern part of Auckland -named North Shore- where we live, with Central Auckland and the southern parts of Auckland.
The Climb itself was good and we learned a lot. For example, that the bridge had only four lanes originally before another four where connected to it, and that only three people died while building the bridge.
And the view was incredible! On one side Devonport (where we live), on the other side Central Auckland with its skyscrapers and the skytower, the highest tower in the southern hemisphere.
